Meridian Flyers Start Off Hot in Statement Win Over Jackson

[Ridgeland, MS] The Meridian Flyers defeated the Jackson Victors 67-59 Friday night to strengthen their grip on the #3 seed in the MSAHA.

The Meridian Flyers came out swinging, starting off with an 18-0 lead over the Victors. Isaiah Davis had 10 quick points early and the Flyers never looked back. The Jackson Victors did bring the game within single digits but were never able to take the lead as the Meridian Flyers took the big road win.

Jackson Victors’ senior guard Dan Grete was out for the game Friday night due to a broken toe. The fact that Jackson was missing him was apparent.

The #3 seeded Meridian Flyers (5-6)[3-1] will host the #4 seeded Muddy River Counselors (3-5)[2-3] on Dec. 17 in Hickory. The Flyers defeated the Counselors narrowly 75-71 in Raymond.

The Jackson Victors (4-7)[2-3] will head to Yazoo City to take on the Manchester Academy Mavericks on Dec. 13.
