Knighthawk Beat: Knighthawks Win Big in Statement Game

[Hickory, MS] The Knighthawks went up to Hickory to take on the Flyers. Going into this game, Laurel knew that they had to play team ball to win against a very fast Meridian Flyers team. They did just that.

Four of the Knighthawks starting five scored double digits, with the only player not in double digits scoring 8 points. Laurel was lead by Jacob Moree, who had 19 points. Silas Ensign got 16 points, as well as four 3 pointers. All of this scoring ended with a 51-71 rout going the Knighthawks way.

The game stayed close for most of the first half, but Laurel pulled ahead at the end of the half. This is mostly credited to Sam Sherwin, who had a timely 6 points to end the half. To start the third quarter the Knighthawks lead 28-38. However, Laurel put up 19 points in the third quarter. Silas nailed four threes in the third quarter, ultimately leading to the victory.

The Knighthawks held off the Flyers for the rest of the game, coming out victorious. This game was a great representation of what the Knighthawks are made of. They executed great ball movement, and rebounded exceptionally well. In short, Laurel played team ball.

On Thursday, the Laurel Knighthawks (2-1)[2-0] are at their own nest to take on the Central Baptist Raiders. Tip off is at 6 PM.
