The Hattiesburg Forerunners defeated the Scott Flames 87-51 on Thursday night in an action-packed showcase.
The Forerunners came in to the game on a slump that was marked by a 86-73 loss to the Muddy River Counselors on Tuesday night.
The Flames stayed close early as the score was within 5 throughout the first quarter. The first quarter ended with Hattiesburg leading 13-11.
Then the Forerunners exploded. They went on a 27-5 run in which Mixon scored 22 of those 27 points, and the Forerunners never looked back, routing the Flames by 36.
Hattiesburg blew past the Flames behind a Forerunner-record 46 points from Dima Mixon and 24 points from Isaac Carraro. Both of these guys are seniors, celebrating their senior night in an exciting evening.
The Scott County Flames (4-8)[0-6] will next take the court when they host the Forerunners.
The Hattiesburg Forerunners (5-7)[4-7] play again in that same game at Scott County.
