Gideon Peacock Signs with Co-Lin Basketball

Gideon Peacock of the Jackson Victors signed a basketball scholarship with Copiah-Lincoln Community College Wolfpack Monday night.

Peacock had an excellent senior year with the Jackson Victors, the team for which he played seven years. He grabbed Conference Player of the Year honors while averaging 19.3 points a game.

Coach David Sanders, now head coach at Co-Lin, took notice of Gideon in the Victors road game against the Muddy River Counselors, the team for which Sanders’ sons play. At the time, Coach Sanders was head coach at Callaway High School, where he was a very successful coach, going 182-40 in eight seasons at the helm. During his eight year stint, the Chargers won three state championships (2014, 2015, 2020).

Once Coach Sanders was hired head coach at Co-Lin, Gideon was offered a scholarship to play there, which Peacock accepted. He will be heading down to Wesson, MS in the fall.
