Counselors Struggle Early, Victors Prevail 73-50

The Jackson Victors defeated the Muddy River Counselors 73-50 Thursday night on the road to finish out the regular season.

The Victors jumped on the Counselors to begin the game, taking a 9-0 lead before Chris Purnell broke the ice by scoring two buckets at the rim. Behind a stream of buckets from Gideon Peacock, the Victors had a 46-19 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Sun Michael exploded for 15 points on 5 three-pointers and the lead was cut to 15 going into the fourth.

Behind scoring from Jackson big man Colin Crosby, the Victors extended their lead in the final period. Crosby finished the ball game with 19 points. The Victors then cruised to the finish in their 73-50 win.

Sun Michael Williams led the Counselors in scoring with 22 points.

Former teammates Gideon Peacock and Sun Michael Williams have fun in their first game against each other.
