Jackson Counselors basketball team had a winning night Thursday in Raymond. King Williams ran off with 19 first half points to boost Muddy River to their 46-4 halftime lead. Caleb Sanders and Sun Michael Williams wreaked havoc defensively and unselfishly shared the ball to find blowout baskets for the Counselors.
“The defense was potent tonight,” says Coach Willis Williams. “We were able to give heavy resistance and in turn get loose and make shots on offense.”
Luke Sanders, Ezekiel Everhart, William Leach and Kyle Townsend turned in solid games for Muddy River’s JV team. They went on to win the contest 36-14.
The Counselors are looking forward to the return match with the Knighthawks as they host Laurel in Raymond on Monday night.
